Brachiosaurus altithorax
The largest dinosaur on Isla Nublar, brachiosaurus is a docile herbivore that typically has nothing to fear of the island's carnivore population. Their great size makes them a safe haven for smaller animals being stalked by the odd Raptor.

Finally decided on a name and logo for Diane's Private Military Company! Quite proud of this one for some reason, despite its simplicity.

Happy Anniversary, Jurassic Park!
Twenty-three years to this day, John Hammond's state-of-the-art amusement park featuring live dinosaurs shut down for the last time. Let this be a memorial to the lives lost that fateful night.

Water Detail Objects
Made some water-related objects to help detail ponds and such - some nice lilypads, water bamboo, and a flat 2D plane object that acts like underwater algae for some extra detail. Will probably do some quick underwater flora too for deeper pools.

Gallimimus bullatus
Often found roaming open areas in groups, gallimimus are skittish and irritable ornithomimids that usually prefer running to a fight. As the smallest herbivores of Isla Nublar, they often fall prey to small, fast predators such as velociraptor or a sudden ambush from larger carnivores.

Diane Forman - WIP
Name: Diane H Forman Age: 31 Place of birth: Honolulu, Hawaii Occupation: Private, First Class, HELIX Intervention and Security Services Status: MIA, Isla Nublar, Costa Rica (Note that the textures are very WIP placeholders and the model itself is not cleaned up or rigged yet - currently it has too many triangles for Tres. More to come!)

Visitor Center Gift Shop
Created a bunch of new props for the gift shop today - books, toys, shirts, gift bags, bottles and even the stamp set - all of which are authentic and accurate to their depiction in the movie. Currently, I've filled the gift shop to the same level as it was in the movie, but this will be reduced as urban explorers to Isla Nublar have likely looted it over the past 5 years. Additionally, you might notice that the cafe fans are completed, and, though you can't see it, the wooden lectern in the corner to the left of the triceratops mural is also there - meaning the cafe area is nearly completed! Just need to model all of the old, rotten food and dinnerware seen on the back table and it's done.

Isla Nublar Render
So it's been a long time since I posted on here, and I figured I'd upload some of my most recent work. In case you don't regularly check TresCom for updates, here's a link to the current status of RTJP: http://www.trescomforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=10998 I'll restate here in short: basically Trespasser couldn't handle the sheer scale of Isla Nublar all in one level, so I have decided to cut the game into separate levels that are progressed through in a linear manner. You will still be able to explore the entire island, but the open-world concept originally intended for this mod is, as far as I can tell, impossible at this scale in Tres. That being said, here is the new heightmap for what will be the final version of RTJP. I used a lot of reference from real-world locations, the island seen in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, as well as a number of maps seen in the film in order to create what I believe to be my most accurate version of the island. There are areas that will likely be changed here and there, but this is pretty much the final product. Welcome to Jurassic Park! Stay updated here in the official thread for RTJP level 1, RTJP~Helipad: http://www.trescomforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=11004

Evolution of the Helipad Canyon
Wow. Taking these screenshots has really given me a bit of a trip back-in-time! Here you can see the progressive evolution of the helipad, waterfall, and surrounding canyon since the very first inception of RTJP. The first image from 2011 (which was actually started in 2009) was made without any prior planning or research - I just made it based on my memory. Back then, I didn't know how to make new models and had little understanding of Trespasser. As such, everything used existing models re-tooled for other purposes - for example, the helipad itself is a stop sign re-textured and with the pole hidden. You can download this level at TresCom if you want to see what I was like when I first started modding. Next up we have the 2013 incarnation of RTJP, and the first one I began showing off publicly. There are many major errors in detail here due to my heavy use of the seemingly inaccurate JP Legacy Nublar map and very little film reference. This level is just as outdated as the 2011 edition and is nowhere near up to my standards today. Then we come to the 2016 RTJP - the one I've been showing on Moddb up until now. While I did quite like this level, I slowly came to realize that recreating Nublar in a single Trespasser level was impossible at this scale - the engine simply can't handle it. Additionally, I had to use less detail than I would have liked in order to keep the object count low. Even so, I knew I still could do better. So, finally, we come to the never-before-seen waterfall in the final, current version of RTJP (which will appear in the first stage, RTJP~Helipad). As film accurate as I could make it, with a long time spent examining shots of the movie and even overlaying the real terrain, this will be the most accurate Nublar waterfall possible with what I have learned over the years. While there are still a few props missing, this is definitely the representation of the helipad that will appear in the final release!

RTJP~Helipad: Helipad Canyon
The first screenshot of RTJP~Helipad, level 1 of the final RTJP plan! Note that there are a few minor props missing (helipad lights, railing, Jeep 10, and a couple of beams that are next to the road), but this is a good idea of what you can expect to see when the level is released. Maybe even with a new effect, as well (animated mist, perhaps)!

Falls View (Lighting Test)
Took this shot a short ways from the Helipad in the completed canyon area. I've been fiddling with the lighting for much of today and finally got it looking as close to the movie as I think I can get it. It's somewhere between the previous version of RTJP and the somewhat more colorful lighting from vanilla Trespasser's Beach level. The fog settings still might need a bit more editing as I want a more misty look to the level, but overall this is what I'm sticking with for now. I also might set the low-poly mountain shrubs to "bool Unlit = true" so they don't receive shadows and therefore blend better with the terrain. Also have no idea why palm trees that are further away have that odd whitish tint to them - might have something to do with the mipmapping of the .dds files.

New Road Marker Models
Well, it's been a long time since I updated, but believe it or not, progress continues to be made! Here you see it in the form of much more film-accurate and higher detailed dinosaur paddock road markers. Keen observers will also notice the new dinosaur skull icons Draconisaurus and I have been working on - the Rex and Herrerasaur icons are brand new, as is the text underneath all of them.

Final Velociraptor skin
Finally got around to editing the Raptor skin. I wanted to make it even more accurate to the movie, adding details such as wrinkles and splotches to the skin. It now looks almost exactly the same as the Raptors seen in the movie - I even took the eye straight from an image of the actual, screen-used prop. Additionally, I made a tiny change to the model, removing the brow ridge, which looked more JP3-esque than the Raptors seen in the first two movies.

New Horizons
Or, more or less, new skies in general. I completely re-did the sky textures using more realistic-looking clouds, and added a horizon line to ensure a smooth blend. This is just the sky that will be used in RTJP~Helipad - I have a number of other variations for use in the later levels. But the sky isn't the only thing that's new in this image...

Further Tyrannosaur Updates
Made a few addtional changes to the Rex model to make it just a bit more film-accurate. Added more of a bump to the snout; thickened the neck and altered its shape and adjusted the tail to better match the animatronic; fixed the eyes; new teeth; new mouth textures, a couple other minor texture edits. Also made new bumpmaps, which I may have gone overboard with, but those can easily be reduced.
