Not far from the helipad at the other end of the valley, this stream winds its way from the base of the massive waterfall all the way out to the coast. The stream plunges over a series of increasingly impressive waterfalls, expanding in depth and size as it winds toward an impressive vista, looked over by the unfinished Vista View restaraunt.

The Visitor Center's lobby is in ruins following the Isla Nublar incident. Vines and vegetation break through the rotting interior, and the construction materials remain in the same places they stood five years ago. A faint breeze echoes through the abandoned halls, and a tropical bird circles the cavernous rotunda, chirping madly at the sudden intruder. "It's like everyone just disappeared. A moment frozen in time," remarks Diane, as she steps through the front door and spies the tattered, dirty banner visible beneath the piles of dead leaves. "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" reads the banner - a chilling hint at the struggle that brought down the massive skeletons of the embattled alamosaurus and the tyrannosaurus.

A hundred feet below, waves crash against the sandy, tropical shores of Isla Nublar. Up on the cliffs, it is instead the wind which assaults the forgotten road that connects the Vista View and Helipad compound with the southernmost security gate leading into the Park itself.

A lone concrete watch tower overlooks Holding Pen #3. This, along with other extensive modifications to the containment systems and fencing, were the fortifications put in place in order to contain Jurassic Park's velociraptor population. Yet a fatal error in the plan to restore order to the island proved to be the flaw that ultimately rendered all of these defences and security systems useless, allowing the deadly Raptors to break out into the main facilities. Although the three InGen-cloned Raptors were wiped out during the second night of the Isla Nublar incident, only a few of the survivors were at all aware of their pre-quarantine nesting sites hidden away in the jungle...

Somewhere in the endless tropical jungles of central Isla Nublar, many roads meet around a high-security gate in the tall perimeter fence. Once designed to keep the denizens of Jurassic Park contained to their own enclosures, the still-standing network of electrified fences now serve as loose barriers between territories and hunting grounds.

Once the first animals had been transferred to Isla Nublar, Jurassic Park Animal Control comissioned gates such as this one in locations leading to areas which might be considered below the safety requirements for InGen's security protocol. Should one of these containment areas become compromised, the intent of these gates was to prevent the creatures which may have escaped their initial holding pens from moving deeper into the Park...

Scattered throughout the ruined Park itself are many of these small, concrete structures designed to hold supplies, equipment, and animal care products. Dug into hillsides and hidden underground to camouflage their utilitarian exterior, many of these buildings have gone untouched over time due to their remote locations, resulting in much of the potentially useful material contained within to remain packed away in excellent condition.

Lee Arbuco, the creator of Trespasser Custom Edition, has managed to get a Stamina system working in-game, in addition to a new, bar-based HUD and a Sprint mechanic! Sprinting is done simply by holding down a key and moving - this increases your speed at the cost of Stamina over time. When you run out of Stamina, you may no longer Sprint. Stamina is also consumed by jumping, so no more bunny-hopping! There is also a slight delay before your Stamina begins to recharge, so you'll have to manage this carefully when being pursued by a hungry carnivore. In the HUD, your Health is indicated by the red bar, and your Stamina is indicated by the green bar. When carrying a gun, its ammo will appear next to the status bars. Diane does not have a heart tatoo to represent her Health, but will recieve scratches and bite marks on her skin as she becomes further damaged. An enormous thanks to Lee for setting this up for us! I tweaked the HUD somewhat from his original script in order to better suit the JP-theme.

Deep in the heart of Isla Nublar, a still-standing bridge crosses a deep, rocky ravine, dried up since the loss of power to its man-made tributary at the Central Pump Station. Although the ravine has run dry for the past five years, the pools which collect along its length during the frequent tropical storms which plague the island still attract scores of wildlife to drink warily from the Jurassic waterhole...

"Although you may not glimpse them at first, look carefully to the treetops on your left for our elusive population of segisaurus. One of the smallest dinosaurs in the park, segisaurus is an arboreal carnivore from the Jurassic period. Unlike our other carnivores, segisaurus hunts from the treetops, leaping down upon unsuspecting rodents and other bite-sized meals, making segisaurus one of the most agile predators in Jurassic Park."

"You'll have to look up above the treetops if you want to spot the head of the largest dinosaur in the park: brachiosaurus. Standing at an impressive fifty feet tall, this gentle Jurassic giant uses its long neck and powerful rear legs to graze on the leaves at the tops of trees which other herbivores can't reach. Though their immense size would keep hungry predators well away, our brachiosaurs are some of the most tranquil dinosaurs in the park, preferring to spend much of their time bathing in the lake or resting with other herbivores. Visitors staying at the Jurassic Park Safari Lodge will have a sweeping view from their clifftop perch over their main paddock which occupies the central fields of Isla Nublar."

Miles of tour track still criss-cross many roadways across the island, while service roads and narrow paths snake this way and that at intervals, provoking exploration in all directions. Luckily, Hurricane Clarissa's lesser impact on Isla Nublar left most of the directional signs standing, as without these, the endless maze of roads, moats, and fences might become an unescapable labyrinth.

Oh, how the times have changed! From the earliest days of this mod before I knew how to model (or really do much in terms of game editing) and had to make buildings out of textured blocks, up until the state-of-the-art high-res bumpmapped detailed location you see in the final version, here is an animated compilation of one of the most iconic Jurassic Park locations over the long history of this mod!

At last, after three seperate versions, Diane - the character you will spend most of the game playing as - has been finalized! She's quite detailed but is still only 2200 faces (previous versions were 3000-4000, for comparison). Her full body was created so that she can be seen in any third-person sequences we come up with!

ISLA NUBLAR 120 miles west of Costa Rica Under the cover of darkness, despite the thrashing waves and intense weather, a small boat washes ashore on the sandy beach. A lone figure in a dark raincoat immediately disembarks the raft and quickly gathers his equipment, his determination combined with a tense, almost fearful haste. The mountains and jungle loom up ahead of him, and lightning strikes, illuminating the black peaks momentarily like claws reaching up into the swirling sky. Turning inland, the man takes a breath, hesitating for a moment, before steeling himself and heading toward the edge of the dark, silent jungle... Announcing the first of three short introductory levels before the first main level, "RTJP: Prologue"! These three levels will be included in the initial release along with Helipad.

The transport of prehistoric specimens is handled through tranquilization and quick, safe wrangling and containment by Jurassic Park Animal Control staff. The smallest specimens can be transported using specially-designed carrier crates, while the larger animals are typically loaded onto one of InGen's custom-modified reinforced flatbed trucks. In order to avoid disturbing the animals or flow of traffic throughout the Park, transit of dinosuars and other hazardous material is done via the underground tunnel network which criss-crosses the entire island.
